Math class isn't the greatest on an average day, but when there's a substitute teacher?

Forget it.

A pile of worksheets and endless busy work. What could be worse?

Well, you could be stuck in a weird basement doing them forever! Unless you can find a way out? And yeah... you just may have to do a little math.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Help! The Substitute Teacher Trapped Me in the Math Dungeon is an escape-room style game requiring players to use arithmetic skills and deductive reasoning to solve puzzles with a focus on multiples and factors. With puzzles that randomize on replay, you can race against the clock and beat the math dungeon (and your best time) again and again!

Hey, it beats flashcards.

We really liked the art, the narrative that tells a story, and the escape room idea, which is very different from the other ideas in the jam. Although mathematical concepts appear, we didn’t clearly see the inclusion of basic mathematical operations in the main mechanics of the game. But we didn’t manage to escape the room, so maybe we overlooked something. Good job!

Thank you so much! I did focus a bit more on the puzzle than the math in the end, I think. If you ever want to try again, you can get hints by using the speaker that the teacher uses to talk to you in the opening cutscene! :)

Really fun idea! I enjoyed the escape-room theme a lot and the simple math concepts would be great to use with some of my students. 👍🏻

Thanks so much! I hope you can put it to good use! :)
